Writing for publication is not an easy task, at least not for me. There is something extra nerve-racking about sending a paper off to strangers who didn't take the journey. So this last year when Rita Martens, Senior Consultant from the Iowa Department of Education, and I decided to share the Iowa AIW story, it took more drafts than I care to admit. Finally, we felt we captured why there has been so much success and how we accomplished it.
Of course, word limitations kept us from elaborating more, but we hope you will find time to check out the article, especially if you are interested in a story of successful collaboration between one Department of Education and a Center focused on reform—resulting in increased student achievement and a transformation in education climate.
