. . . Ah sweet summer. . . . Long, sunny days, and sweltering heat punctuated with hard, cool rain! As this school year comes to a close and we rest before launching into another cycle of learning, it’s worth considering how changes—both anticipated and unknown—will impact us.
For the folks here at The Center for Authentic Intellectual Work, the biggest change is a shift in our relationship with the Iowa Department of Education (IDE), our five-year partner in intellectual reform work. For the next two years, The Center for AIW, IDE, and Northwest Area Educational Agency Iowa will co-create a Center of Excellence to continue AIW within Iowa.
We are excited about this journey, although we ask for everyone’s support. The idea of state “Centers of Excellence” is rocky, a path not yet smoothly paved.
In the meantime, we invite you to branch out with us as we partner directly with more schools around the country. In this time of change, please visit our new home page and learn more about collaborating with the Center for AIW!
Look for regular posts on this blog! We will be featuring stories from the field and ideas for reform work in schools. Also, you can follow The Center on Twitter, #AIWreform.
