I just wanted to pass along a link that you might find interesting. The English Companion Ning is a fabulous and extensive web resource for teachers, and they're having a Webstitute tomorrow afternoon. The focus is on collaboration among teachers. I probably won't be able to sign in for the entire program, but I'm most interested in the first one--a session on sharing what we know about collaboration with our students. Definite connections to substantive conversation there. I'm sharing the link because it has a video that shows students actively engaged in making meaning about the book Hunger Games. If you haven't read the series, I highly recommend it. Here's the link: http://englishcompanion.ning.com/group/ecnningwebstitutejanuary92011/forum/topics/penny-kittle-craft-analysis
